Dear Bethel Family:
There’s plenty in the world these days to cause distress, worry and fear,
but God calls us to live into the Hope that is ours.
Advent invites us into a time of expectant waiting by heralding the hope we long for: the coming of Emmanuel, whose very name means God-with-us. Jesus came to teach us how to live and how to love – not from afar, but from right here, among us.
As we journey on to Bethlehem, we welcome your company on the Way. Please join us for some, or all, of our special Advent gatherings:
December 10: Bethel Choir presents our Christmas Cantata:
“A Thrill of Hope.”
Once again, the Bethel Choir and Friends will bless us with an Advent gift of music. If you know someone who would enjoy this special time of music,
please invite them to come!
December 17: 4th Advent: Christmas Sweater Sunday!
Let’s fill the sanctuary with colour! Wear your ugly Christmas sweaters, your fun and funny Christmas sweaters, your jazzy ones, or even just wear red or green.
December 24: Christmas Eve Service:
*** Note the time! -10:00 am***
December 31: New Year’s Eve: HAPPY AND BLESSED NEW YEAR!
Family time: no service.
See you in January!
See you at Church on Sundays at 10am!

LIST OF ANNOUNCEMENTS
These are available for download
and printing on this site
Like every church, we need to do fundraising to help us meet our financial commitments. So we’re inviting you to put on your thinking caps! How about a fundraiser around food? Bake Sale? Cook-off (Chili or otherwise!)? Mad Hatter Tea party? How about one around music? Concert? Music Night? Or product sales (like cookie dough or ready to bake treats)?
If you have an idea to share for a fundraiser for our church, talk to any of the Stewards or Trustees, or our Treasurer Edna. We’d love to hear it!
Prayer Shawl Ministry – we have a collection of lovely Prayer Shawls that have been knitted by a dedicated group in our church family. If you know of someone who would appreciate the love and comfort of one of these shawls, you are welcome to check with a member of the Prayer Shawl Ministry or see Rev. Kim. They will be happy to send another one on its way.
No Scents Makes Good Sense! We strive to be a welcoming congregation where everyone can feel comfortable and included in our worship and fellowship life. As an increasing number of people have scent sensitivities and allergies, we are requesting that folks refrain from wearing scented products like perfume, cologne, scented after shave lotion, perfumed hand lotion and/or similar products to church. Let’s ensure that everyone who wants to join us is able to come and to remain with us, and thank you for your cooperation.
Food Bank: Please remember this very important outreach. If you prefer to make a cash donation, you may include it in your offering envelope; simply write “Food Bank”, and the amount, on your envelope, and don’t forget to make sure your name is on that envelope!
Offering Envelope Reminder – please remember to put your name and number on your envelope – it will save a lot of work and ensure you are credited with all your offerings on your annual tax receipt.
To have your announcement included in our bulletin,
Please email your info and any graphics/pictures (with permission from subjects) by Wednesday 4:30p.m. for the following Sunday to:
